Written Pattern

This hanging kitchen towel topper is worked directly onto the top edge of a dish towel. The video above shows the exact placement and construction.

Materials

• US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles

• Lily Sugar N' Cream cotton yarn

• Comparable dish towel

• 1.5 in (3.8 cm) button

• Tapestry needle

• Thread and scissors

Construction

1. Prepare the towel: Fold or mark the top edge of the dish towel. Use thread to sew along the edge where the knitted topper will be attached.

2. Attach the yarn: Following the video, cast on stitches along the sewn edge of the towel with the US 7 needles.

3. Knit the topper: Work in the demonstrated stitch pattern until the topper is long enough to fold over the towel and meet the button area.

4. Create the buttonhole: Work the buttonhole shown in the video, sizing it to fit the 1.5 in button.

5. Finish: Bind off, weave in the ends, fold the topper over the towel, and sew the button securely to the towel.
