Repeat the ribbing round until the work measures 1.5{2}[2] inches (3.8{5}[5] cm) from

Increase Set-Up (Video Time 13:09)
Knit 1{2}[2] round(s)
Increase Round 1: M1R, knit across round
Increase Round 2: Knit
Increase Round 3: M1R, knit 1, place stitch marker, knit the remaining stitches
Increase Round 4: Knit
There are now 16{18}[20] stitches on the front needle and 14{16}[18] stitches on the
back needle.
Thumb Increase Repeat
Thumb Round 1: M1R, knit until the stitch marker, M1L, pass the stitch marker, knit the
remaining stitches
Thumb Round 2: Knit
Thumb Round 3: Knit
Repeat Thumb Round 1 through 3 until you have a total of 8{10}[12] stitches before the
stitch marker. Finish after you complete Thumb Round 3.
Place the Thumb Stitches on Waste Yarn (Video Time 18:42)
Thread the tapestry needle with the waste yarn and slide the 8{10}[12] thumb stitches
off the knitting needle and onto the waste yarn. Remove the stitch marker.
Continue knitting the 28{32}[36] glove stitches until the knit portion (from the end of
the ribbing until the knitting needles) measures 2{3.25}[4] inches (5.1{8.3}[10.2] cm).
Index Finger (20:16)
Re-arrange the stitches:
o Slide the first 4{4}[5] stitches purlwise
o Pull the circular knitting needle in your right hand to the left so that the 4{4}[5]
stitches slide onto the cord
o Using the tapestry needle and waste yarn, place the next 20{24}[26] stitches
onto the waste yarn
o Slide the last 4{4}[5] stitches purlwise
Once the re-arranging is complete you should be back at the beginning of the round and
there are 4{4}[5] stitches on the front needle and 4{4}[5] stitches on the back needle.
Pattern directions - page 3
Index Round 1: Knit across the first 4{4}[5] stitches, cast on 2 stitches, turn work and knit
the remaining 4{4}[5] stitches
Continue knitting the index finger until it measures 1.75{2}[2.5] inches (4.4{5}[6.4] cm).
Finger Decreases
Finger Decrease Round 1: K2T, Knit 2 repeat across. If 2 stitches remain at end of
round (only some sizes), K2T
Finger Decrease Round 2: Knit
Finger Decrease Round 3: K2T repeat across. If 1 stitch remains at end of round (only
some sizes), Knit 1
Cut the yarn leaving an 8” (20 cm) or longer tail. If you are unsure of the finger sizing I
would recommend leaving a longer tail (1 yd (0.9 m)) so that you have the option of
lengthening the fingers once the glove is complete. Using the tapestry needle, thread
the tail through the remaining stitches.
Middle Finger (Video Time 30:00)
Beginning with the side of the mitten where the thumb is towards the right
o Pick up the first 3{4}[4] stitches from the waste yarn going from right to left
o Pull the circular needle holding the 3{4}[4] stitches to the left so that the stitches
slide from the needle to the needle on the other side of the cord
o Turn the mitten to the opposite side (thumb is towards the left)
o Pick up the last 3{4}[4] stitches from the waste yarn going from right to left
o Remove the waste yarn from the 6{8}[8] stitches that are now on the needles
Once the re-arranging is complete you should begin the next round on the side where
the thumb is towards the right. The stitches should be divided so there are 3{4}[4]
stitches on the front needle and 3{4}[4] stitches on the back needle.
Round 1: Join the yarn. Knit the first 3{4}[4] stitches, cast on 2 stitches, turn the work,
knit 3{4}[4] stitches, pick up and knit the 2 stitches that were cast on to the side of the
previous finger.
Once Round 1 is complete there should be 5{6}[6] stitches on the front needle and
5{6}[6] stitches on the back needle.
Continue knitting the finger until it measures 2{2.5}[3] inches (5{6.4}[7.6] cm).
Ring Finger
Repeat the steps as described for the middle finger using the first and last 3{4}[4]
stitches. Once you have picked up the stitches from the waste yarn, casted on the two
Pattern directions - page 4
stitches, and picked up the two stitches from the previous (middle) finger you will have
10{12}[12] stitches on the knitting needle (5{6}[6] stitches on each needle side).
Ring Finger: Continue knitting the finger until it measures 1.75{2}[2.5] inches (4.4{5}
[6.4] cm).
Repeat the decreases as described for the index finger.
Pinky Finger
Beginning with the side of the mitten where the thumb is towards the right
o Pick up the first 4{4}[5] stitches from the waste yarn going from right to left
o Pull the circular needle with the {4{4}[5] stitches to the left so that the stitches
slide from the needle to the needle on the other side of the cord
o Turn the mitten to the opposite side (thumb is towards the left)
o Pick up the last 4{4}[5] stitches from the waste yarn going from right to left
o Remove the waste yarn from the 8{8}[10] stitches that are now on the needles
Once the re-arranging is complete you should begin the next round on the side where
the thumb is towards the right. The stitches should be divided so there are 4{4}[5]
stitches on the front needle and 4{4}[5] stitches on the back needle.
Pinky Finger Round 1: Join the yarn. Knit 1, M1R, knit 4{4}[5] stitches, turn the work, knit
4{4}[5] stitches, pick up and knit the 2 stitches that were cast on to the side of the
previous finger.
Continue knitting the pinky finger until it measures 1.25{1.25}[1.75] inches (3.2{3.2}
[4.4] cm).
Pinky Finger Decreases
Thumb (Video Time 38:57)
Beginning with the side of the mitten where the thumb is towards the left
o Pick up the first 4{5}[6] stitches from the waste yarn going from right to left
o Pull the circular needle with the 4{5}[6] stitches on it to the left so that the
stitches slide from the needle to the needle on the other side of the cord
o Turn the glove to the opposite side (thumb is towards the right)
o Pick up the last 4{5}[6] stitches from the waste yarn going from right to left
o Remove the waste yarn from the 8{10}[12] stitches that are now on the needles
the thumb is towards the left. The stitches should be divided so there are 4{5}[6]
stitches on the front needle and 4{5}[6] stitches on the back needle.
Pattern directions - page 5
Thumb Round 1: Join the yarn. Knit the first 4{5}[6] stitches, turn the work, knit 4{5}[6]
stitches, pick up and knit two stitches from the corner where the thumb joins the glove.
Continue knitting the thumb until it measures 1{1.25}[1.75] inches (2.5{3.2}[4.4] cm).
Repeat the decreases as described for the index finger.
Cut the yarn leaving an 8” (20 cm) tail. Using the tapestry needle, thread the tail through
the remaining stitches.
Weave in all the ends & enjoy!
