Thumb (Video Time 16:13)

Pick up the thumb stitches being held on waste yarn.

Knit 1 round, picking up one additional stitch where the thumb joins the mitten.

Continue knitting the until the thumb measures .75” [1”] (1.9 cm [2.5 cm])

Thumb Decrease Round: K2T across the round. There should now me 3 [4] stitches

remaining.

Break the yarn and use the tapestry needle to thread the tail trough the remaining

stitches.

Optional Pom-Poms (Video Time 20:21)

Use a 1.4” (3.8 cm) pom-pom maker (typically the smallest size in the set of 4 that are

sold) to make a total of 6 [8] pom poms. Use a longer thread to tie the pom-poms, so

that later you can use this thread to tie them to the mitten. I then trimmed each pom-

pom down to 1” (2.5 cm) in diameter.

Sew the pom-poms onto the top side of each mitten.

Repeat for the second mitten!

needle, slide the stitch off of the needle

Repeat Step 2: Thread the tapestry needle purlwise through the new first stitch on the

front needle, keep the stitch on the needle

Repeat Step 3: Thread the tapestry needle purlwise through the first stitch on the back
